Alan and Ann by HidekoDahlia Alan and Ann by HidekoDahlia
V (~dualin) and I at AnimeIowa cosplaying as Alan and Ann from Sailor Moon R (The Doom Tree serie). The costumes turned out so awesome. Sewn from scratch.

How did you attach/make the 'vines' on the suit? So cool!

We made the piping out of a gold vinyl, and then while one was wearing their body suit, the other one put in a few stitches at a few points to hold it in the right place. It was tricky and there were many needle pricks involved...

It looks amazing :) One of my dream cosplays is either Alan or Fiore and I had no idea how to do that. Thank you for responding :)

No problem! Alan and Ann were a lot of fun to make, though we ended up making them a bit more complicated than we needed to, haha. Good luck with your own cosplays!

Ah sorry I didn't reply to this til now. ^^;; Actually it's just the "swimwear"/dance stretchy material. You can get it at most fabric stores. The piping was some sort of gold vinyl that I haven't seen for a number of years, but I'm sure it still exists somewhere. I wouldn't suggest turning it inside out though - it makes your fingers bleed after a few dozen hours of doing it. >< The vests we used crushed velvet for, which is an awful material to make cooperate most of the time, but worked really well for this. Good luck with the costuming!
